It's early afternoon, the Gray Room is open but nearly empty, and Dorian steps into Nick's office with a wicked gleam in his eye and a sweet smile on his face. "I have a research project for you, Nicky."
It's so useful to have a friend with a penchant for research. Dorian could do it himself, of course, but it's tedious, and that's no good. He takes the seat across from Nick.
"I need a spell, something I could tailor into a potion preferably, that would allow me to insert myself into someone's dream. Not dreamwalking, exactly." He's done that bit already. That was his research. "I don't need to be there. I just want Eggsy to see me instead of who he's actually dreaming about."
And Pru thinks that Nicky is the one obsessed. Nick's eyebrows go up a little, and he considers it. "I have something I might be able to fashion into a charm," he says, thinking of the second beak of that thing that Kavinsky dreamed. "Which you might be able to turn into a potion. You're better at those than I am," he adds, without any shame.
Nick has the advantage that Reggie wants to stay with him. That's all Dorian's working on. "All I need is the magic," he agrees with a grin. "What is it you have in mind?" He's curious, to a point, so long as Nick doesn't get too detailed.
"I have the beak of a creature that came out of a dream," he says, "and I've used it to catch dreams. I have it's feathers, too. You could powder it up, experiment with it."
He pauses and considers things. "A charm might help your image fly into his dream, and the beak, ground up, could on your face, could insert your figure." He shrugs. "It's not exactly tried and true. I only suspect, adapting things from a text about the body parts of a sleep demon."
It's a hard thing to describe. "It's a nightmare," he offers, finally, as if that explains it. It kind of does, but Nick knows it's not exactly helpful. "It's not really supposed to exist."

He looks up at Dorian, and leans back into his chair. "Do you really? Come and tell me all about it," he says, smiling loose and easy.

"I think I could work with something like that." He's already thinking of rhymes.

He doesn't want Eggsy to die or anything, but collateral damage is often a necessity of progress.
