[ Because while Nick's "staying over" with Kavinsky, Reggie is at home in their bed feeling bored, lonely, and generally cranky about this whole situation, so he periodically shoots off a text as long as he can't sleep anyway.

Whether he's hoping Nick will reply (he's not sure if Nick would or even can, given where he is) or just wanting to make him smile and feel like Reggie's keeping him company in some way even if Nick's currently asleep -- or, again, just not replying -- doesn't matter, Reggie has no shame in letting the messages accumulate if necessary.
